Getting Here

From Central/North West London The best route is A40 / M40 (exit junction 8 back on A40 towards Oxford and Cheltenham). You skirt Oxford and Burford staying on the A40 until 10 miles before Cheltenham.  After Northleach and then Hampnett, you turn left onto the A436 towards Gloucester.

After 3 miles there are a couple of mini roundabouts – go left at first, right at the second following signs to Birdlip. After 2 more miles you’ll come to the Air Balloon roundabout – stay left on the A417 towards Cirencester for just half a mile before turning right to Birdlip. As you enter Birdlip village follow the road round to the right, then turn sharp left on the B4070 to Stroud (don't miss this left, just after the George pub).

Follow the B4070 for 6 miles into Slad. After the 30mph signs, 400 metres into the village there are signs showing the road narrows. The Old Chapel is immediately past the white cottage on the right; pull into the car park hard right behind the drystone wall.

From South/South West London take the M4 to junction 15. Follow the A419 to Cirencester, then to Stroud. In Stroud follow signs to A46 Cheltenham, pass over two consecutive mini roundabouts, and at third mini roundabout take the 2nd exit to Slad and Birdlip (B4070). As you enter Slad, go past The Woolpack pub and The Old Chapel is a further 300 metres on the left side, set back from the road, just as the road narrows and bends. Pull into the car park behind the drystone wall.

From the M5 South, exit at junction 13, and take A419 to Stroud. In Stroud, take 1st exit on roundabout to A46 (Cheltenham/Gloucester), go past cinema and at next roundabout take 2nd exit to Slad and Birdlip (B4070). Two miles later you enter Slad, go past The Woolpack pub for 300 metres and The Old Chapel is set back from the road on the left side, just as the road narrows and bends. Pull into the car park behind the drystone wall.

From the M5 North, exit at junction 11a, taking the A417 towards Cirencester. Half a mile after Air Balloon roundabout, turn right to Birdlip.
