Stunning views in Laurie Lee's Slad Valley

Discover the unspoilt Slad Valley in the Cotswolds where 'Cider With Rosie' was based.

Cooking at home

If you enjoy cooking, you'll love staying at the Old Chapel. The kitchen is completely up to date, spacious and well-equipped with utensils, herbs and condiments (help yourselves). The latest AEG ovens and induction hob (there's no gas supply in Slad), a large American style fridge freezer with filtered water dispenser and ice maker, dishwasher and plenty of preparation space make it a joy to cater here.

Waitrose, Sainsbury's and Tesco are a couple of miles away, and they all deliver to The Old Chapel (place your order online in advance) and with Stroud's excellent farmer's market on Saturdays stocking up is easy. There's also a Co-op two miles down the road that opens late for basics, drinks and newspapers.
