Swimming Stratford Park Leisure Centre in Stroud (2.5miles) is a brand new complex with indoor and outdoor pools, health suite, sunbeds etc. Skiing Dry slope skiing in Gloucester (6 miles), 7 days a week. Skiing, snowboarding, tubing, mat rats and a Snowflex fun park with pipes and jumps. Lessons available. There’s also a 9 hole golf course on site. Call 01452 874842 Water sports The South Cerney Outdoor Education Centre offers canoeing, sailing, snorkeling and windsurfing at the Cotswold Water Park, around 20 miles away. Check their schedule for one day and two day courses, taster sessions, and other activities. Seven treatment rooms built around a courtyard pool, with options for men, women and teens. There's also a creche to keep toddlers busy.

Events With so many cultural and sporting activities taking place throughout the year, the best thing to do is check the Cotswolds Info site for the period you plan to take your holiday. The most famous festivals take place in Cheltenham during the Spring and Summer months: Cheltenham Gold Cup 11-14 March 2008 SBC Cheltenham Jazz Festival 29th April - 5th May Cheltenham Science Festival 4-8 June 2008 Cheltenham Music Festival 4-19 July 2008 The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival 10-19 October 2008. Wychwood Music Festival is a mini Glastonbury held on Cheltenham race course at the end of May. We should also mention the bizarre Cheese Rolling event that takes place on Cooper's Hill at various times in the year. You wouldn't want to miss that.
